The Elves of Misthria
The Elves of Misthria are split into three “peoples”; the Kor, these are the elves of Ash-Rilar who still hold favour with their homeland, The Bah-Kor are elves whose families once lived within the arcane barrier of Ash-Rilar but have been banished from the homeland this could have been in their own generation or generations past and the Mer, these are elves that have never seen the homeland of Ash-Rilar and are often seen as savage and brutal.
The Kor
The highest and most regal of elves, any who are allowed to travel to and from Ash-Rilar without persecution have only been allowed to do so by the queen’s blessing. Maybe she has given you a task or calling outside of the sacred cities, or maybe you hail from a noble family of ancient roots. Either way, if you are still able to call yourself Kor, you are of great importance.
The Kor are your classic high elves, long flowing clothes, beautiful jewels and ornate weapons and armour.
The Bah-Kor
On the other hand, the Bah-Kor, while once being from Ash-Rilar, are now banished from their homes. This could be due to some criminal offence where banishment was favourable over death, or it could simply be that you were too curious and ventured outside the arcane barrier protecting the realm. This may have been an offence that you yourself caused, or some mistake your family made a millenia ago, it matters not, you are no longer allowed to enter Ash-Rilar by legitimate means.
The Bah-Kor tend to take on more of a style from the region that have settled, you could be from any other area on Misthria, as long as you have the iconic pointed ears you are able to settle into any area.
The Mer
The Mer are the tribal, original form of elves, they have existed since long before Ash-Rilar was founded, and very little has changed. Tribes of Mer can be found on every continent, including Ash-Rilar, and those from there are left mostly to their own devices. Brutal and natural they rarely find themselves living outside of their tribes and adhere to their own rules. Great warriors of the Mer tend to tattoo their faces and arms, each tattoo representing a great deed or story.
Mer tend to wear greens and browns, blending into the background of the swamps or forests they call home. Areas of exposed skin are not uncommon, usually filled with tattoos or the space filled with flora of their home. Animal bones, feathers and teeth are common as adornments on clothing and they tend more toward speed and skill over wearing heavy armour.
