Shal-Koreen

The capital of Ash-Rilar, Shal-Koreen is a city of unparalleled beauty, hidden deep within the heart of the continent and protected by the magical barrier. Its towering silver spires and crystalline bridges shimmer with the light of the stars, while its streets hum with ancient enchantments. The city serves as the spiritual, political, and arcane heart of the Kor elves.

Significance

Shal-Koreen is the seat of the Silver Queen and the center of elven governance and culture. It is a place where decisions shaping the future of Ash-Rilar are made, and where the most potent of elven magic resides. Outsiders rarely, if ever, set foot in the city, adding to its air of mystery and sanctity.

Key Locations
The Moonlit Throne

The grand seat of power where the Silver Queen resides. This palace is a fusion of architecture and magic, with walls that glow faintly under moonlight and gardens that bloom regardless of the season. It is here that the Queen holds court and oversees the governance of Ash-Rilar.

The Luminal Archives

A vast repository of elven knowledge, this library contains scrolls and artifacts dating back to the founding of the Kor race. Scholars and mages study here, unlocking secrets of the past and forging spells for the future. The archives are guarded by constructs and wards to prevent misuse of their contents.

The Everglade Sanctuary

A sacred grove deep within the city, said to be the birthplace of the first Mer. It is a place of peace and renewal, where the natural and arcane worlds intertwine. The sanctuary is tended by Mer elves and is a pilgrimage site for those from across Misthria.

Vael’Rithil

A city built among the branches of a colossal, ancient tree known as Aelinthar, Vael’Rithil is a marvel of both engineering and nature. Its structures are carved from living wood, which shifts and grows to accommodate its inhabitants. Magical lanterns illuminate its pathways, creating a dreamlike atmosphere.

Significance

Vael’Rithil is a hub for elven diplomacy and artistry. It is where the Council of Elders convenes, and where Bah-Kor envoys are sometimes granted an audience. The city is renowned for its masterful weavers, sculptors, and musicians, whose works are infused with subtle magic.

Key Locations
The Council Arbor

A chamber within Aelinthar’s heart, where the Council of Elders deliberates. The chamber pulses faintly with the tree’s life force, said to grant wisdom to those who listen.

The Sylvan Amphitheater

An open-air venue where elven performers showcase their art. Its acoustics are so perfect that even a whisper can be heard clearly by the entire audience. The amphitheater is also used for rituals celebrating the turning of the seasons.

The Branchmarket

A marketplace suspended in the lower branches of Aelinthar, where merchants trade rare magical items, enchanted jewelry, and exquisite works of art.

Illyndor

Nestled along the coast of Ash-Rilar, Illyndor is a city of shimmering white towers and cascading waterfalls. The city is built into cliffs overlooking the ocean, with canals and aqueducts weaving through its streets. It serves as Ash-Rilar’s gateway to the sea, though its docks are heavily restricted to maintain the elves’ isolation.

Significance

Illyndor is a center for maritime protection. Its fleet of enchanted ships patrols the seas around Ash-Rilar to deter intruders.

Key Locations
The Tidal Citadel

A fortress rising from the sea, connected to Illyndor by a series of magical bridges. The citadel houses the elite Tidewardens, who defend Ash-Rilar’s waters and maintain its coastal wards.

The Sapphire Veil

A grand temple dedicated to the sea and sky, where Kor and Mer alike come to pay homage to the spirits of water. Its central chamber features a pool that reflects the stars even during the day, symbolizing the unity of the heavens and oceans.

The Pearl Docks

The main port of Illyndor, where enchanted ships are crafted and maintained. The docks are a hive of activity, yet access is strictly monitored to prevent the flow of unwanted goods or people into or out of Ash-Rilar.
