Equality and Diversity at Misthria
Misthria is a world of adventure, mystery, and boundless possibility, and we strive to ensure that everyone can take part in and enjoy the experience. Our events are built on respect, inclusivity, and a shared love for storytelling, and we are committed to creating an environment where all participants, regardless of gender, heritage, nationality, identity, ability, or background, feel welcome and valued.
While some settings within the game may draw upon historical inspiration, they exist within a world of myth and magic, one where players have the freedom to craft their own legends. We do not include real-world prejudices or discrimination as part of the setting, nor will we accept “historical accuracy” as justification for behaviour that excludes, alienates, or harms other participants. Misthria is a world of heroes, and every hero deserves their place in the story.
Creating an Inclusive World
-
The lands of Misthria are vast, filled with different cultures, beliefs, and traditions, but none of these include real-world discrimination.
-
Characters should be designed with the world’s setting in mind, embracing the spirit of adventure without bringing in themes that create discomfort for others.
-
The struggle in Misthria is against ancient threats, lost civilizations, and the forces of fate, not against real-world divisions.
-
Jokes, inebriation, or claims of “it was just roleplay” will not be accepted as excuses for inappropriate behaviour.
Access and Comfort in the Game
Misthria LARP takes place across a variety of locations, each with its own unique terrain and challenges. While we strive to ensure that as many participants as possible can access and enjoy our events, different sites may present different levels of accessibility.
-
Some sites may have flat, easy-to-navigate areas, while others may include rough terrain, dense woodland, or steep inclines.
-
The availability of indoor spaces, shelter, or accessible sleeping arrangements will vary depending on the event site. Where possible, we will provide information ahead of time regarding available facilities.
-
Water, electricity, and restroom facilities may not always be present at every site, so participants should prepare accordingly.
-
If you have specific accessibility needs, we encourage you to contact the event team ahead of time so we can provide information on the location and, where possible, discuss accommodations.
We aim to create a game world where all participants can take part meaningfully. If you have any concerns or require additional support, please reach out before the event so we can work together to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.
Respect and Fair Play
Every adventurer, noble, and wanderer who walks the lands of Misthria has a duty to uphold the spirit of the game. The following expectations apply to all participants:
-
Misthria LARP is a gender-neutral space, no character is expected to conform to rigid roles or stereotypes.
-
Respect for fellow players, game runners, and crew is fundamental. Your character’s actions should not cause discomfort to others outside of the game.
-
Insulting or making derogatory comments about another participant’s real-world appearance, background, or identity will not be tolerated.
-
Non-consensual roleplay of any kind, including references to harm or forced actions, has no place in the game and will result in immediate consequences.
-
Roleplay should remain within the agreed themes of the world, deliberate attempts to introduce real-world discrimination or political ideologies are not acceptable.
-
If a sensitive topic arises and a participant requests the conversation or scene to end, that request must be respected. Ensuring an enjoyable experience for all takes priority over any single roleplay interaction.
-
If a player wishes to check in with another during a scene, stepping briefly out of character to do so is encouraged and will not be seen as breaking immersion.
Enforcement and Consequences
We operate a Final Warning system to maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
-
Most conduct breaches will result in an official final warning. If behaviour does not improve, the individual will be removed from all future Misthria events.
-
In cases of serious misconduct, including harassment, immediate expulsion without warning may occur.
-
Any concerns regarding safety, behaviour, or well-being should be brought to the attention of the event organizers as soon as possible.
-
We reserve the right to deny sale of tickets and participation in events for any reason, without explanation.
The world of Misthria is one of shared stories, hard-won victories, and legendary friendships. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that all who step into this world can do so freely, without fear or discomfort.
If you have any questions, concerns, or need assistance, please reach out to the event team. We are here to support the adventurers of Misthria, both in and out of the game.
