Valdyr
Valdyr, the Crimson Sovereign, is the god of rulers, war, and unity, the flame of ambition that drives mortals to lead, conquer, and endure. To some, he is the divine patron of kings and heroes, the embodiment of righteous strength and the power to protect. To others, he is the whisper of tyranny, the fire that devours itself in the pursuit of order.
His presence stirs the hearts of soldiers and rulers alike, reminding them that leadership is both a privilege and a burden. Whether hailed as savior or feared as oppressor, Valdyr’s influence burns in every throne room and battlefield.
Valdyr is depicted differently across cultures, reflecting the ideals or fears of those who invoke him. In royal chapels he appears as a radiant monarch clad in crimson and gold, his crown wreathed in light. Among warrior orders, he is an armoured giant whose sword stands as tall as him.
In darker cults, he is faceless, a shadow behind a throne, eyes glowing like embers in the dark. His symbol, the sword and crown entwined in flame, represents both leadership and its price, the fire that illuminates or consumes, depending on the hand that wields it.

Basic Information
Valdyr is said to walk among mortals in times of upheaval, his presence heralded by the toll of distant war drums or the shimmer of red light before dawn. When kingdoms rise or fall, his hand is felt in the ambition of those who claim right to rule. In battle, his power may manifest as a rallying cry echoing from no throat, or as unbreakable resolve that sweeps through an army on the brink of defeat. He grants victory and ruin in equal measure, for to Valdyr, both are instruments of purpose, proof of who is worthy to bear command.
Valdyr is often described as the most human of the gods, proud, passionate, and deeply aware of the cost of his gifts. He embodies the contradictions of leadership, compassion and cruelty, honour and pride, duty and desire. To his followers, he is both mentor and judge, demanding strength not for its own sake, but to wield it. Yet Valdyr’s lessons are harsh. He tests loyalty through hardship, integrity through temptation, and unity through conflict. To some, he is a tyrant cloaked in glory, to others, the one god who truly understands the burden of command.

Personality
The origins of Valdyr are lost in the haze of early human history. Some claim he was once a mortal ruler whose triumphs and tragedies echoed so profoundly through the ages that the Essence itself elevated him to godhood. Others say he was born from humanity’s collective desire for power, a manifestation of the will to lead and be led. In truth, both may hold fragments of truth.
In ancient times, warring tribes invoked his name to unite their people beneath a single banner. He was called the Crimson Sovereign not for bloodshed alone, but for the shared flame that bound warriors and citizens together. Temples rose in the hearts of cities, where kings sought his blessing before conquest, and rebels prayed to him for the courage to overthrow tyrants. His faith has always been dual, one turned to the light of justice, the other to the shadow of ambition.
The clergy of Valdyr record few miracles but many oaths. His name has crowned and condemned empires. In some ages, he is remembered as the divine patron of unity and civilization, in others, as the god whose fire burned too brightly, leaving only ash. Through every rise and fall, Valdyr endures, for as long as mortals crave power, his flame can never die.

Rituals
The worship of Valdyr transcends nation and creed. Kings, generals, and lawgivers call upon him for strength and legitimacy, while rebels, soldiers, and revolutionaries invoke his name for courage against oppression. His followers see power as sacred, not inherently good nor evil, a flame to be tended, not feared. Temples to Valdyr often double as courts or war halls, filled with banners, iron braziers, and the scent of oil and steel. Notably a large portion of the Adventurer's Guild hall's fly a banner to Valdyr.
His priests, known as Valan, vary greatly in doctrine. Some preach unity, justice, and the protection of the weak, others glorify conquest and obedience. To worship Valdyr is to walk a narrow path between greatness and ruin, to bear the weight of human nature in its truest form.
