Thyrax
Thyrax is one of the universally worshipped gods of Misthria, revered and feared as the embodiment of storms, oceans, and unbridled chaos. Known as the Tempest Caller, Thyrax commands the winds, the waves, and the tempests of both nature and essence.
Their worship reflects awe more than comfort, a recognition of power that cannot be tamed. To sailors, they are a guardian and a destroyer, to warriors, a symbol of strength and defiance. Thyrax represents the ever-shifting balance between fury and renewal, the storm that tears down and clears the way for calm. Few pray to escape their wrath, most pray simply to be spared it.
Thyrax is depicted as a towering, elemental figure whose form shifts like a storm, part mortal, part tempest. Their eyes glow with lightning, and their skin shimmers like rain. In some depictions, they are crowned in storm clouds and bear a trident crackling with raw Essence, in others, they are a robed mariner, drenched and smiling.
Their voice is described as the rolling of thunder, capable of both terrible fury and deep, resonant comfort. Wherever Thyrax is portrayed, the image carries motion, waves crashing, wind howling, fire flickering.

Basic Information
Thyrax often manifests in the heart of chaos, on stormy seas, battlefields, or during natural disaster. Sailors tell of seeing a shadowed figure walking atop the waves, guiding ships through maelstroms before vanishing with the dawn. Warriors speak of thunder rolling without clouds before great conflicts, a sure sign the Tempest Caller watches. When Thyrax acts, it is through nature’s fury, the surge of wind that drives a vessel from ruin, the flash of lightning that strikes down a tyrant, or the storm that cleanses a land of corruption. Their presence is both destruction and deliverance.
Thyrax is wild, passionate, and ever-changing, embodying both wrath and renewal. They are quick to anger, yet just as quick to forgive, for their fury is not malice but necessity. To them, chaos is the crucible through which all things are tempered. They value courage, despise stagnation, and laugh at the illusion of control. Thyrax is a teacher of hard lessons, that survival, growth, and freedom are born from struggle. They are equally capable of compassion and destruction, blessing one sailor while sinking another.

Personality
Thyrax’s origins are as old as the seas themselves, said to have formed when the Essence of the world began to churn with emotion and conflict. Before mortals could name them, they were the storm, unthinking, untamed, and all-encompassing. In time, as sailors and wanderers learned to survive the tempests, their awe gave shape to belief, and Thyrax awoke as a god.
Legends say Thyrax’s first act was to roar across the new born oceans, their voice cracking the sky and filling it with lightning. From this cry, the winds were born, and the world was set in motion. Yet while other gods sought dominion or worship, Thyrax claimed only freedom.
Worship of Thyrax first flourished among coastal and island nations, where survival depended on understanding the sea’s moods. Fishermen offered the first catch of each season to calm the tides, while captains broke wine against their ships in Thyrax’s name. Over time, their influence spread inland, to warriors who saw in them the storm of battle, and to scholars who viewed their endless cycles as symbols of transformation. To this day, the faithful believe that when a storm rages without mercy, Thyrax walks within it.

Rituals
The worship of Thyrax is loud, raw, and as unpredictable as the god themselves. Sailors, pirates, and fishermen pray for safe passage or swift winds, while warriors invoke Thyrax’s name before charging into battle. Stormcallers, elementalists, and sorcerers of the sea devote themselves to mastering the chaotic energies Thyrax commands.
Temples to Thyrax are rare, often built along cliffs or shorelines where waves crash against stone, places where one must raise their voice to be heard over the storm. Services are marked by drums and chants. The devout do not fear Thyrax’s wrath, they welcome it, believing that to endure the storm is to earn the god’s respect.
