The Rise of the Red Dragon

The greatest moment in the history of Elathir was the rise of the Red Dragon, who consolidated power across the Heartland, uniting disparate factions under his rule. This pivotal event reshaped the political landscape of the continent, establishing a centralized monarchy that has endured for generations. The Red Dragon’s founding of the Adventurer’s Guild, a key organization in Misthria, also brought a new wave of adventurers to the land, further solidifying his influence.

The Great Darrow War

A series of border skirmishes between the Darrowfolk of Darrowmere and a coalition of rebel factions in the Heartland culminated in the Great Darrow War. The conflict, which spanned over a decade, saw Darrowmere’s rugged warriors defending their lands from encroaching forces. Though the war ended in a tenuous peace, it solidified Darrowmere’s position as an independent and formidable force within Elathir, and further cemented the alliance between Darrowmere and the Red Dragon’s regime.

The Tyrus Blood Games

Every year, Tyrus holds its infamous Bloodstone Battles, a festival where its citizens engage in friendly combat to demonstrate their martial prowess. However, during a recent festival, a fierce competition turned into an all-out civil conflict, sparked by an assassination attempt on a Tyrus noble. This incident led to a brief but intense war between rival factions within Tyrus, ultimately culminating in a unification under a new ruler and a renewed alliance with the Heartland. The event showcased Tyrus’s love for combat but also its deep political unrest.

The Sacking of Ash-Rilar (Event of Legend)

Though not a recent event, the legendary Sacking of Shal-Koreen is an event often discussed in whispers. During the early days of Elathir’s founding, an attempt to break the isolationist policies of the elves led to a massive assault on the elven continent, Ash-Rilar. The elves, protected by their magical barriers, decimated the invading forces, but the confrontation left a lasting scar on Elathir’s relationship with Ash-Rilar. It remains a pivotal moment in the history of Elathir’s foreign policy. While there are few who remember the details of this attempt within Elathir, the Elves, long lived as the are, remember it much clearer.

The Disappearance of the Silverleaf Scholar

The Silverleaf Library in Thalnor is one of the greatest repositories of knowledge in Elathir, but recently, a renowned scholar researching ancient elven magic vanished without a trace. His disappearance occurred shortly after he uncovered a forbidden tome that allegedly holds the key to unlocking ancient elven powers. The library’s headmaster, fearing the worst, has quietly sought the help of adventurers to investigate the mystery, but the path is fraught with danger as ancient guardians and powerful magic seem to be blocking the search. This is commonly spoken about across the Adventurer’s Guild, with two factions forming around it, those who wish to seek the knowledge, and those afraid of the consequences.

The Rift of the Darrowfolk

In the isolated city of Darrowmere, a growing faction of Darrowfolk has begun to challenge the ancient traditions of their people. This splinter group, known as the Frostborne, believes that the Darrowfolk should break their ties with the Heartland and rule themselves independently. The dispute has led to violent clashes in the city’s streets, with the ruling family struggling to maintain order. While the Red Dragon has sent emissaries to mediate, the situation remains fragile.

The Eclipsed Moon Prophecy

A mysterious prophecy has begun circulating throughout Elathir, claiming that a great disaster will occur when the moon eclipses the sun, an event that is set to take place in the coming years. The prophecy suggests that the Red Dragon will fall, and the world will be plunged into chaos unless certain powerful Mythic items are found and assembled before the eclipse. Some believe the prophecy is a fabrication, while others see it as a true omen. In any case, many factions, including the Adventurers Guild, the Heartland, and even hidden cults, have begun searching for these relics, each with their own agenda.
