Current Relations
Elathir
To the dwarves of Mossak Dum, the humans of Elathir are ambitious and unpredictable, often overstepping boundaries in their pursuit of power and expansion. The rise of the Red Dragon and his Adventurers’ Guild has only increased tensions, as these adventurers often seek to pry into dwarven secrets or claim resources within dwarven-controlled mountains. While the surface dwarves of Bralgrim Hold engage in trade and diplomacy with Elathir, the underground clans view their human neighbors with suspicion, wary of their lack of respect for ancient traditions and territorial boundaries.
Ash-Rilar
The dwarves respect the Kor elves of Ash-Rilar for their mastery of magic and their disciplined society, but they see the elves’ isolation as both a strength and a flaw. To the dwarves, the elves’ reluctance to engage with the outside world is a missed opportunity for collaboration and mutual defense. The arcane barrier around Ash-Rilar is both admired and resented, as it prevents the dwarves from accessing the rich veins of rare minerals rumored to lie beneath the elven lands. While the Kor remain distant, the occasional trade with Bah-Kor exiles offers a rare glimpse into their culture.
The Felton Isles
The dwarves view the Felton Isles and their inhabitants with a mixture of caution and disdain. The orcs and “monster races” of the Isles are seen as chaotic and primitive, lacking the structure and refinement of dwarven society. However, the Isles’ reputation for harboring rare magical artifacts and untapped resources intrigues the more adventurous among the dwarves. Surface traders from Bralgrim Hold occasionally risk dealings with orcish merchants, but the underground clans see the Isles as a potential threat, especially if their inhabitants were ever to unite under a common cause.
Culture
Mossak Dum is a mountainous realm defined by its dwarves’ resilience and mastery of craft. Beneath its rugged surface lie vast underground cities like Khaldrim Dorul, where the halls glow with the light of enchanted forges. The surface dwarves, though more open to trade and diplomacy, maintain the cultural pride and industrious spirit of their subterranean kin. Known for their exceptional metalwork, arcane innovation, and unyielding determination, the dwarves of Mossak Dum are both respected and feared by their neighbors, standing as guardians of their ancient traditions.
